The Banner Group consists of a small group who meet together fortnightly to use their needlework talents to create beautiful, meaningful pieces of wall art to hang in the sanctuaries and contribute to the atmosphere of peace and reverence that we all look for there. Future plans are many and varied and will be decided by the members, in consultation with the minister.
New members and visitors are always welcome, times of meetings are announced in the Order of Service. We meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the Laird’s Loft at Forgandenny Church. Everyone is welcome to join us! |

Members of the Social Committee arrange catering and provide support for special services and church family events such as Communion services, stated meetings, etc. We cement the link between congregational members and the communities of Bridge of Earn and Forgandenny. Our social evenings take the form of St Andrew’s Nights, Burns Suppers, quiz nights, concerts with various singing groups and musicians. If you have a good idea about events, let us know.

Twenty years ago, a small group of women decided that it would be a good idea to have an evening once a month where they and others like them could meet for coffee, a chat and take time to relax and get to know each other better. The group has continued to meet since then and has speakers, activities and outings covering a wide range of interests. We are also involved in fundraising for a variety of charities and currently host lunches in November and April for that purpose.

Chatterbox is essentially a parent and toddlers' group with the assisted help of aunties/grannies drawn from the church family. We have just celebrated our 10th anniversary in March 2020. The doors open on a Thursday morning from 9.00 am to 11.00 am. Tea, coffee, juice water and toast is served throughout the morning. It is a very relaxed, happy and welcoming atmosphere.

"Flowers beautify our Church - Where Flowers Bloom, So Does Hope"
(Lady Bird Johnstone) Flowers are gifted by members of the church family either in memory of a loved one or just because someone wishes to decorate the church. Normally, people gift money, and flowers are bought and arranged by a dedicated small band of ladies in our church. We have rotas for arranging, dismantling and delivering. |

Forgandenny Church stands in the middle of our small village and as such enjoys being very close to our wonderful countryside. The congregation appreciates the flowers and foliage that surrounds us and the Church flowers tend to reflect this.
Members of the congregation volunteer on a rota system and have a free hand to do any arrangement they like, and they are always beautiful and well accepted. Following our Church service the arranger takes the flowers to a person in the village who they think would appreciate the thoughts and love from the Church family. |
As you might expect, we pray together when we meet each Sunday, and the order of service sheet we take home with us has prayers for us to use throughout the week. However, as a congregation we also try to pray at other times and in other ways. In the garden around Dunbarney Church there is a prayer walk, with stepping stones and plaques and benches - all of which are there to enable anyone and everyone to take a little time out to spend in quiet conversation with God.

Dunbarney and Forgandenny Pastoral Group has a number of members who are willing to get alongside folk who are feeling lonely or facing challenges in life for many different reasons, including bereavement and illness. We meet every two months in the Church Hall at Dunbarney to support each other and to learn how we can best be there for people.

Following Jesus is all about a new way of life. Our lives should be characterised by great passion for honouring God in the way we live. To be a follower of Jesus - who preached love and forgiveness - requires us to do likewise and practise the same, particularly when it comes to those who differ from us.

With our neighbouring parishes, we are looking at creative ways we can work more closely together and in partnership, to ensure that ministry, pastoral care, and mission can be provided to all the people across the four parishes. Our neighbouring congregations are: Abernethy, Dron and Arngask Parish Church, Aberuthven and Dunning Parish Church and Aberdalgie and Forteviot Parish Church.
