Eco Church & Prayer Garden

Eco-Church

As a group and with the involvement of the congregation we follow the Eco-Congregation Scotland Programme caring for God’s Creation. We began our Eco Congregation work in 2007 and gained our first award in 2011.  We were awarded 'Silver' in 2018.  Activities have included making our church grounds wildlife friendly, becoming a Fairtrade Church, recycling, calculating our carbon footprint and making energy savings. Meetings take place every two months to discuss progress and future action.

The next project was the completion of the Prayer Path in the church grounds and anyone can now enjoy a time of prayer and quiet reflection.  A copy of the Prayer Path leaflet is available on the Church Office Wall as you enter the gates.  Please take one and end enjoy the experience.  Any thoughts or ideas will be welcomed. Please phone or email the church office.  Anyone who is interested in helping or joining the group, please get in touch.

The Earn Valley Swift Conservation Project

The Earn Valley Swift Conservation Project was formed in 2015/16 to help address the decline in swifts in our local area. Working closely with local schools, village halls, churches and local residents, we secured funding for 12 swift boxes to be installed and are planning to install 6 more this year. Occupation of the nest boxes can be speeded up by playing a swift call CD.
